Resilience

What is Resilience? Well by Websters dictionary it means the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

Truth is we are more resilient than we give credence to! Why? Well, take an inventory of your life, and you will see that every single difficulty you've had in life, has been overcome. We are naturally resilient, of course some can handle more than others, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you have the ability to overcome. It's in your DNA to overcome!

Now, you may say "David, don't you have a mental illness?", well yeah. But that doesn't take away from my ability or capacity. I've learned many lessons this year while dealing with mental illness. One lesson I've learned and has become my mantra "Mental illness is a heavy enough weight, why continue in life, picking up more weight?". With that being said, I've found that minding my business helps me to not pick up weights that have nothing to do with me. Wow, did you read that, minding your business will allow you to carry you and you alone. When you do pick up additional weight, please differentiate between what's yours to carry and what's not.

We live in a time now, where the belief in God has been boxed into religious practices or beliefs, but how can you box all there is into a systematic, diplomatic, religious belief. But for me it's beyond what Church or religion taught me, I know God from experience. So have you, resilience comes from the one above, the Almighty, The Alpha and Omega, yahweh, or whoever you named God to be. Lets chat some more shall we, next thought Romans 8:35-37.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Paul was trying to tell us that because of the love that Christ has for us, we overcome many obstacles, yet we overcome. I wrote all this to simply say, HANG IN THERE DARNIT! You are RESILIENT!!!!
